We are a group of Haitians from the United States of America who, following February 7, 1986, judged that it was necessary to contribute to the development of the Republic of Haiti which had suffered so much. under the presidency of the late Doctor François Duvalier and his son Jean-Claude Duvalier. Under their presidencies, Haiti saw a large number of its executives leave the country to go, at first, to teach in Africa which, at the time, was trying to escape the beige colonial education system. Then, after Belgium, in collusion with the other white settlers of the time, managed to scare away the Haitian teachers whom it feared because they were awakening the conscience of Africans, and given that life in Haiti was becoming very difficult and even impossible, our executives, politically pursued in Haiti, continued their emigration in greater numbers towards the great metropolises of the world such as: the United States of America, Canada, France as well as towards several democratic countries of the world which offered a place to live and exercise their talents acquired in Haiti at the expense of the Haitian State whose system éducatif, Instruction Primaire, Secondary and University education is almost entirely free by a bankrupt state constantly living below its means and resources.
Thus, we of the Diaspora, having wanted to give back to the country in return for the benefits from which we had benefited, decided to organize ourselves with a view to contributing in a citizen way, parallel and or joint, to the development of our dear Republic and more particularly in the private and municipal initiatives which would allow the population of all the almost abandoned municipal sections to fend for themselves and with what means, finally being able to experience this feeling of patriotic belonging! When we know the deprivations, the suffering that we in Haiti endure, those who live outside the Republic of Port-au-Prince, for reasons completely beyond their control!
Back in the day, in the pre-Duvalier periods, it was still possible! Not today after the departure of the Duvalierist dictatorship.
Certainly and despite everything, we set up our Association in 2004 called:
INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY FOR THE MODERNIZATION OF HAITI, doing business under the name “HAITIAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP.”
Already, we are counting on the continued support of the Haitian Diaspora everywhere as well as that of our Haitian sisters and brothers from within in order to improve the living conditions of the entire Haitian population, all sections municipalities included without discrimination or favoritism but according to their particular needs capable of helping them to develop for the greater good of each and everyone.
